Graduates are well-prepared for careers in government, education, diplomatic service, intelligence analysis, international business and finance, and non-profit organizations as well as prestigious fellowships like Fulbright and Boren and competitive graduate programs in fields as diverse as international development, global education, sustainability, public policy, and international law.

Why should I major in Global and International Studies?

Want to understand how the world works and how you can change it? GLIS offers students who are concerned about global issues that face everyone an opportunity to explore them from multiple disciplines, approaches, and perspectives. Students focus on a pathway – human rights, culture and identity, global conflict, wealth and inequality, and health and environment – and take courses from various academic departments across campus. This allows students to focus on an issue of interest in a more holistic way.
